Texas girl dies in truck accident while waiting for her bus

A young Texas girl has passed away after a tragic early morning accident. The 11-year-old was waiting for her bus close to her home when she was struck by a truck and killed. The driver of the truck, a 45-year-old man who is a neighbor of the girl's family, was traveling to work when he turned onto the street where the girl was waiting. She reportedly passed away shortly after the truck accident occurred.

The little girl waited for the bus on an area where there were no sidewalks, apparently forcing her to wait on or near the street. The driver stayed at the scene of the accident, and police do not believe he was impaired at the time of the crash. He cooperated with an investigator's request to provide a blood sample to rule out intoxication.

The little girl's father is questioning why the man has not been arrested for his role in the death. He believes that negligence may have occurred because there was a yield sign in the area, and he believes that the driver failed to yield. Police have stated that the morning sun's glare and possible inattention on the part of the driver may have played a role in the crash. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The family is obviously devastated about the death of their daughter, and will likely have continuing questions and concerns about the circumstances surrounding the Texas truck accident. Once the accident report is complete, it will likely clear up some of the questions concerning the incident. Criminal charges have not been ruled out, but the family may also have the right to pursue civil action against the driver. Any negligence findings in the accident report could bolster a wrongful death suit, should the family elect to file one in the future. Texas residents could look into personal injury laws in their area and seek out legal counsel should they want to looking into compensation for a car accident.
