Fatal accidents happen every day in Texas. These tragic accidents can happen in a person's workplace, in a car accident or even while the person is just out for a walk. It is difficult to know when these accidents will occur or the toll they will take on the person's family.
However, people should know that legal remedies exist when a loved one is killed in an accident. If the accident was the result of someone's negligence, the negligent party can be held responsible through a wrongful death suit. A wrongful death suit will help to pay for medical expenses, funeral costs, lost wages, pain and suffering and other damages caused by the person's loss.
Recently, a Texas woman has brought a wrongful death suit against a company. According to the woman, her mother was crossing a street when she was hit by a car. Despite being taken to a hospital, the woman's mother died as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the car was an employee of the company that the woman is now suing. She claims that the driver was not paying attention at the time of the accident, and that the company should be held responsible for the negligent actions of its employee. The woman is seeking unspecified damages from the company as a result.
Situations where multiple parties are responsible for a person's death can be complicated. However, it is possible to hold multiple parties responsible for their negligent behavior. Those considering a wrongful death suit should make sure that they understand all the parties that are potentially responsible for the loss of their loved one. While a wrongful death suit cannot stop the emotional pain, holding negligent parties responsible will ensure that families do not financially suffer as well.
