Another victim killed by drunk driver at Texas concert

Drunk driving accidents are tragic because they are completely preventable. If drivers take the time to think about how much they have had to drink before they get behind the wheel of a car, people would not need to get hurt.

However, often drunk drivers don't think - they just act. In these cases, Texas residents everywhere are put at risk. Drunk driving accidents not only have the potential to cause serious injuries, but they can also be deadly.

An accident caused by a drunk driver at the South By Southwest concert, held in Texas, earlier this month has now claimed four lives. According to reports, a 21-year-old drunk driver was fleeing from police when he drove through a barricade and into a crowd of concert-goers in early March. As a result, more than 20 people were injured, and now four have died - including an 18-year-old who had been struggling for his life since the accident.

The driver faces a variety of criminal charges following the accident including aggravated assault with a motor vehicle and capital murder.

When people are injured by a drunk driver, they have legal rights. The same goes for family members who lose a loved one in a drunk driving accident. By filing a personal injury or wrongful death suit, victims and their families can hold drunk drivers finically responsible for the horrific damage that they have caused. There can be medical expenses, funeral costs, lost wages and other costs that can fall on the victims to pay. While this compensation cannot ease the pain from what's happened it can ensure that families do not to pay for the aftermath.
