Can drug makers be sued for insufficient warning of side effects?

Modern medicine relies heavily on the pharmaceutical industry to provide remedies for all kinds of ailments. The industry is constantly coming out with new drugs to fight everything from insomnia to cancer, and makes hefty profits by doing so. But sometimes things go wrong, and a drug that is supposed to help a patient ends up causing serious injury, even death.

Bill to ban texting and driving in Texas gains momentum

Forty-four states have banned texting and driving. Texas is one of the holdouts; a bill that would have banned the practice was vetoed by then-Governor Perry in 2011 on the grounds that it intruded on personal liberty. Since then deaths caused by distracted drivers have continued: in 2014 alone distracted driving was cited by Texas law enforcement officers as a factor in 495 fatal accidents. Sugar Land Police cited driver inattention as a factor in 102 accidents in 2014.

Liability for Texas swimming pool accidents

As Memorial Day approaches Texans are going to be flocking to swimming pools. Swimming pools are a great place for families to relax on a hot day. But they can be dangerous, and fatal swimming pool accidents can happen in an instant. Anyone taking small children to a pool should keep safety in mind at all times.

Fighting for justice in fatal accident cases

The loss of a loved one is always hard for a family. But the loss can be especially hard when a family member's death is sudden and unexpected. And when the death was caused by the negligence or wrongdoing of another person or party, a family's suffering can be overwhelming. Whether the death resulted from a fatal car crash, truck accident, medical malpractice, drowning or another cause, the survivors have the right to compensation.
